Many people have a need to consolidate student loans. When I was in collage I had 3 different loans and 3 different rates.
It was a big pain to make 3 separate payments every month at 3 separate times. Fortunately there are ways to consolidate your student loans.
Both federal and private student loans can be consolidated.
There are many good rates to be had right now also. The rates can fluctuate with time, so you need to lock in as soon as possible when you find a good rate.
You can consolidate student loans 6 months before you even graduate if you need to. But remember you can only consolidate once so make sure you are getting the right deal before you pull the trigger.
